Lead Electrician

The Vansmith is Colorado's foremost adventure van building company. We are a growing entrepreneurial company and a leader in the outdoor space. We are based in Boulder, CO and work a 5 day a week schedule.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our van building team. We install numerous systems into our vans - solar panels, batteries, secondary alternators, ship-to-shore, AC, heating systems, water pumps, etc. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, and troubleshooting these systems. You'll be expected to work with suppliers to understand their systems as is needed.

Responsibilities:

- Refine/optimize electrical design as needed

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings - refine these as is needed - help us improve our systems

- Prepare for installation (work with supply chain to ensure all needed parts are ordered)

- Install electrical systems and equipment and quality control installations of rough wiring and anything else that may affect the operations of the electrical systems

- Perform inspections and troubleshoot issues

- Test electrical systems for proper functioning

- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes

- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time

- Provide guidance and training to apprentices as needed

Qualifications:

- Must have work authorization in the USA

- Experience with vans and van systems a plus - but not required)

- Familiarity with Victron systems also a plus

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including 110V, 12V and 48V systems

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

- Familiarity with hand tools and electrical testing equipment

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Valid driver's license

Expected hours: 40 per week
