Excavation Estimator

As a Junior Excavation Estimator, you will assist in preparing cost estimates for various excavation and site utility
projects. Your role will be crucial in supporting our lead estimator and helping our project managers plan to ensure the
success and profitability of each project.

What You Will Do

• Estimation: Assist the Lead estimator in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost
  estimates for excavation projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and
  subcontractor costs.
• Bid Management: Manage the bid process from start to finish, including analyzing
  project requirements, soliciting bids from vendors and subcontractors, and preparing
  detailed bid proposals.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering assessments to
  identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance project profitability.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate project risks and uncertainties, providing insights and
  recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers and project review meetings
  and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions and strategies for the project
  execution.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project estimates, bids,
  vendor pricing and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry
  regulations.

Ideal Candidates

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field or
  equivalent years of experience.
• At least two years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus

        on excavation and site utility projects.

• Expertise in construction estimation techniques, including quantity take-offs, cost
  analysis, and bid preparation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret project
  specifications and drawings accurately.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with
  internal teams, clients, and vendors.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software (HCSS preferred) and Microsoft Office
  Suite.
• Knowledge of local construction codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Valid drivers license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
