Dynamic and growing Orange County and San Diego based boutique CPA firm, that exclusively serves the nonprofit sector, is looking to immediately add a Manager to our audit department. A CPA is required. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with 5+ years of public accounting experience, specifically serving non-profit organizations. You will have the opportunity for planning, scheduling and managing staff to ensure timely completion of engagements, performing final review of audit workpapers and reports, conducting and monitoring fieldwork on audit and attestation engagements, performing risk assessments and developing audit programs, and working with clients to develop long-term relationships.
Job requirements are as follows:
• Manage engagements by planning, monitoring and reviewing. Delegate tasks to assigned staff, regularly communicate with clients and other Evergreen Alliance team members, respond to questions, clarify assignments and review information and ensure work is completed in a timely fashion.
• Evaluate and assess engagement risk during the planning phase and develop initial testing plans for engagement partners for approval that meets professional standards and department policies.
• Review the work performed by staff including work papers, financial statements, and administrative documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with professional and organizational standards. Serve as technical resource to assigned staff through careful review and feedback on work products.
• Manage client relationships through active and on-going communication, responding promptly to questions and inquiries, review schedules and timelines and communicate deadlines to clients.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of new client proposals, including information gathering for potential new clients
• Research technical issues and communicate results of research to staff or client. Maintain the necessary depth of technical skills, experience, and analytical ability to identify, research and resolve technical issues on your assigned engagements.
• Mentor and support staff assigned to each engagement by providing informal feedback during the engagement and formal, written feedback at the end of the engagement.
• Be able to demonstrate substantial working knowledge of US GAAP
• Possess significant experience working in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Strong work ethic demonstrated by past work experience
• Strong time management skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Potential travel to Orange County, San Diego Count, LA County, Northern California, and possible (but minimal) out of state travel.
