Chilled Water Operator II

OUC - The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second largest municipal utility in Florida committed to serving the community and the environment, is presently seeking a Chilled Water Operator II​to join the Electric & Water Production division.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled worker who can be responsible for providing thermal energy service to customers by operating, servicing, maintaining, and monitoring chilled water production.  

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring plant operations through a computerized control system and making recommendations and decisions affecting plant operation or shut down. You will provide support to mechanics and maintenance staff in performing repairs and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and facilities.

We are looking for a person comfortable with rotating shift work that includes weekends, evenings and nights for our 24/7 plant operation. We offer 3-day weekends off every other weekend.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum four (4) years' experience in the operation of large chillers, chilled water operations, and /or similar industrial equipment, including maintenance/operation of large machinery, control systems, etc.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship or vocational/technical training in heating, ventilation and air conditioning or equivalent may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
• Must possess EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification (OR) have the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Florida Driver's License

Salary Range: Starting at $24.41 per hour (Estimated $50,791.52 annually) with a structured step progression system and performance-based pay increases every 6 months up to $32.49 per hour (Estimated $67,583.36 annually).
