Duties:

Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing - Take and develop dental x-rays and intraoral images - Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments - Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations - Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed - Assist the dentist during dental procedures - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record systems (Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft) - Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique

Requirements:

Valid state dental hygiene license - Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program - Proficiency in medical terminology and dental procedures - Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices - Experience with dental assisting is a plus - Familiarity with medical imaging technology and techniques - Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively - Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records - Ability to work well in a team environment Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
