Description

SCOPE:

This position provides account management and new business acquisition within a specified geographical territory. The Unbranded Territory Manager (TM) reports directly to the Vice President of Supply & Logistics for the Wholesale Fuels division of the Christensen Company. The Unbranded Fuels TM is responsible for phone and face-to-face territory sales. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing a successful sales strategy that drives volume and margin growth through both existing and new customers. This position drives value through unbranded fuel sales growth, working with supply to align fuel demand to supply, and developing long lasting relationships with customers and prospects to generate current and future sales growth.

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES

  • Manage customer relationships and drive positive customer net promoter score performance
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve annual business/company objectives
  • Work closely with logistics team on unbranded fuel orders to minimize delivery issues and drive a positive customer experience
  • Solicit sales, negotiate agreements, and closely monitor complex sales transactions within competitive and/or profitability guidelines
  • Manage the fuel bidding process, this includes identifying opportunities along with analyzing, preparing, and submitting proposals
  • Work efficiently in a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Software and effectively manage an opportunity pipeline
  • Make formal and informal sales presentations to both customers and internal stakeholders
  • Assist supply through consistent matching of demand to supply positions
  • Develop and maintain a complete understanding of Christensen's unbranded fuel supply daily duties which include but are not limited to nighty pricing, billing, credit, and logistics
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business huddles with report out on both successes & opportunities
  • Collaborate with credit department to effectively manage territory's accounts receivable 
  • Work with Christensen back-office team to set up and maintain customer accounts
  • Understand and live our Core Values and execute all aspects of our Employee Value Proposition
  • Other Duties as required

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Business and/or at least 5 years sales experience
  • Demonstrated success creating and managing long term relationships, understanding customer's demands, while generating growth 
  • Must have good organizational skills with the ability to manage the sales process and maintain accurate minimum expectations within the CRM database
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities along with flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written required

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Operates in a professional office environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit for long periods of times, talk, and hear.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, with the ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
