Job Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general direction of the AVP, Enterprise Systems, responsible for the vision, strategy, and end-to-end delivery of the DFW Airport Digital Twin platform. Drives enterprise-wide integration across systems, enhances real-time data visibility, and optimizes operational performance across airfield, terminal, and landside environments. Leverages digital twin technologies to enable predictive analysis, asset optimization, and data-driven decision-making that improves efficiency, resilience, safety, and passenger experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Defines and implements a cohesive Digital Twin roadmap aligned with airport master plans, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, sustainability, and facilities management goals.
  • Oversees the design, delivery, and scaling of Digital Twin use cases from Minimum Viable Product (MVP) through full enterprise deployment.
  • Ensures seamless integration of the Digital Twin with key airport systems, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), SCADA, CMMS, Building Management Systems (BMS), Airport Operational Databases (AODB), and Internet of Things (IoT/OT) infrastructure, creating a unified real-time data environment.
  • Translate operational challenges, such as capacity management, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization, into actionable technical specifications for the platform and engineering teams. Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, such as Technology Services,
  • Enterprise Innovation & Product Development, Operations, Facilities, Security, Planning, and other stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and shared outcomes.
  • Partners with data engineering teams, to establish governance frameworks, data pipelines, and analytics models that support predictive insights and continuous performance improvement.
  • Leads change management, communication, and training efforts to prepare teams for Digital Twin adoption, ensuring smooth operational integration, adoption, and user engagement.
  • Manages relationships with vendors, system integrators, and technology partners, ensuring performance, compliance, and adherence to airport data security standards. Builds business cases, manages budgets, and conducts cost-benefit analyses to demonstrate the measurable impact and ROI of Digital Twin initiatives across airport functions.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable aviation, security, and data governance standards (e.g., FAA, TSA, and relevant federal or state cybersecurity requirements).
  • Tracks project milestones, risks, and outcomes, providing executive stakeholders with performance metrics, ROI reporting, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Smart Cities, or a related field.
  • Six (6) or more years of experience in digital transformation, product management, or with large scale integrated technology project
  • Three (3) years with direct supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to deliver large scale integrated technology projects in critical environments.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management across diverse operational groups, vendor coordination, and translating complex operational problems into clear technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of how technology supports real-world airport operations.
  • Ability to define vision and drive transformation in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive bold, meaningful change at scale in a complex, relationship-driven environment.
  • Ability to use data-driven insights to make decisive, and execution-focused decisions, ensuring strategy translates directly to measurable business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of GIS principles, spatial data management, and cartographic design.
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture and integration concepts.
  • Ability to perform complex geospatial analyses and communicate findings clearly.
  • Knowledge of asset management and infrastructure data models (e.g., utilities, transportation networks, facilities).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with the ability to translate technical information into business context.

DESIRABLE

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Smart Cities, or a related field.
  • Experience with large-scale integrated technology projects in complex, highly regulated, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Expertise with Digital Twin, BIM, GIS, and IoT/OT integration.
  • Experience in airport, aviation, transportation, or other large-scale operational environments.
  • Experience with airport-specific systems such as AODB, RMS, and BHS.
  • Experience with digital twin implementation or 3D visualization tools.
  • Experience with digital solutions supporting predictive maintenance, capacity planning, or passenger flow modeling.
