Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is looking to fill the role of a Field Safety Supervisor. This position is key in delivering and expanding on our safety culture & processes, and ensures that all our employees are working, driving and executing their work in a safe and healthy manner. As our Field Safety Supervisor, you will be driving all Safety agendas in a given territory, reporting to our Safety Operations Manager. This role is an Individual Contributor.


Responsible for the direct oversight of the following functions:

  • Drive cam FIELD supervisor/Coach responsible to conduct coaching sessions with drivers in the field, based on driver performance as related to LYTX/DRIVE CAM/SAMSARA data
  • Maintain or coordinate recordkeeping as related to LYTX/DRIVE CAM/SAMSARA performance
  • Assist Safety Manager/Drive cam manager with DRIVE CAM safety training and safety meetings
  • Facilitate or lead accurate and timely investigation of accidents and injuries; identify causes and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future
  • Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
  • Responsible for conducting coaching sessions with drivers in the field
  • Notify management of situations that may pose an immediate risk or danger to employees which represent serious exposure to employees, facilities and/or customers
  • Collect and report driver performance metrics and brief senior management regarding status of compliance
  • Ensure appropriate use of Personal Protection Equipment as required by the company
  • Monitor goals and targets related to LYTX/DRIVE CAM/SAMSARA metrics, including metrics related to incident reduction, liability reduction, and injury reduction
  • Provide timely investigation and reporting of accidents and injuries in the field
  • Facilitate coaching sessions with transportation supervisors, drivers and management as required
  • Maintain or coordinate recordkeeping as related to LYTX/DRIVE CAM/SAMSARA performance
  • Conduct or assist Safety Manager/Drive cam manager with LYTX/DRIVE CAM safety training and safety meetings

Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 6:00 AM PST - 6:00 PM PST
Saturday: 7:00 AM PST - 1:00 PM PST
Sunday: OFF

FOR THIS POSITION, WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WHO ARE FULLY BI-LINGUAL IN SPANISH/ENGLISH

Candidates must be able to fully read, write, and speak Spanish at a bi-lingual competency level.


Compensation:

Salary: $66,560.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Requirements:

Requirements

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish (REQUIRED)
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written in both languages
  • 2-4 years of OSHA and DOT experience required
  • 3-5 years of Safety experience in the Trucking/Transportation industry or waste & recycling industry.
  • Must have the ability to oversee daily operations and activities of drivers as it relates to LYTX/DRIVE CAM/SAMSARA performance
  • This individual must be able to communicate day to day and long term needs of the fleet; requiring conversations, appointments and follow- up
  • This position requires experience in supervising and coaching others
  • This position requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal team members and external customers/vendors
  • This position required the ability to resolve effectively performance or service issues with management, supervisors and drivers
  • This position requires prioritization of tasks and effective time management skills
  • 80/90% traveling to conduct company business such as coaching sessions, accident investigations, safety meetings and special projects
  • Must be technologically proficient and experienced in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, and able to be trained in other programs
  • The position may also require extended workdays and weekend availability; involving a variety of work-related activities such as perform extended periods of talking, sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, driving or other forms of travel

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Some travel required

Compensation

The Field Safety Supervisor position offers a competitive salary ranging from $ 66,560 to $80,000 per year, dependent on experience. Alongside the salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer matching, generous paid time off, and life insurance coverage. The final compensation package will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
