Mechanical Assembler

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assembler is responsible for reading blueprints and assembling heavy equipment and parts according to an instruction manual. Responsibilities and job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for light fabrication (cut, drill, grind, etc.)
• Assembly and installation of assigned parts, pieces, subassemblies and assemblies on both the interior and exterior of the vehicle
• Coordinate with manager and welders to troubleshoot problems
• Perform painting task on a small scale
• Set up assembly job by locating parts and gathering materials by work orders
• Inspect final products for quality and ensure they meet the required standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is in a clean and orderly condition
• Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety guidelines

EXPERIENCE

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and be mechanically sound
• Previous experience in assembly or a related field is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments
• Previous experience in welding or electrician work is desired
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Attention to detail
• Experience with or knowledge of manufacturing practices
• Experience using precision measuring tools
• Experience reading blueprints and follow work instructions
• Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects/components, frequently 25 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs
• This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, walking, stooping and handling materials
