Position Summary

Reporting to the Shipping & Logistics Manager, the Shipping/Receiving Clerk will be responsible for daily operations and location requirements as it relates to the running of the location. Clerks will directly act as the key point of contact for the location teams and suppliers. The role will require utilization of the location systems for optimized results and management. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk ensures incoming product quantity, pricing and quality matches the purchase order or Bill of Materials requirements and supports stock levels. Internal customer satisfaction is the Shipping/Receiving Clerk's responsibility. This is an hourly role and required to be onsite in our Itasca, IL facility five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping.
• Prepare shipping documents, including packing lists, bills of lading, and customs documentation.
• Implement and maintain shipping best practices to optimize efficiency.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
• Update inventory systems and communicate with relevant departments to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Ensure all received items are correctly labeled, stored, and documented.
• Maintain organized and accurate inventory records using the company's inventory management system.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory audits.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate with procurement and production teams to avoid stockouts or overages.
• Collaborate with the customer service team to address customer inquiries and provide shipment status updates.
• Foster positive relationships with carriers and negotiate favorable shipping terms.
• Computer data entry experience working with Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, or ERP software.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook and Excel)
• Ability to perform under pressure and work independently.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
• Proficient in time management and communication skills.
• 3+ years' experience in supporting materials coordination within a similar industry & work environment.
• Ability to utilize location systems and data input as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50LBS.
• Ability to work some overtime and some weekends if required.
• Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check.
