Automation Service Technician

The Slate River Systems’ Automation Service Technician provides technical and functional support for post implementation to repair, replace, and maintain our customers’ systems both regionally and nationally. This position will require a willingness to offer opinions, options and direction and be flexible with the needs of the business. This position will be working with robotics, rack, electrical pneumatic and computer equipment in various work environments needing fast, accurate results. This position will require a broad knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, electrical, PLC skills along with equipment repair practices and techniques.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Onsite service and repair for all SRSI installed systems, concentration in Robotics.
- Ensure that warehouse machinery functions correctly and efficiently to meet the company’s demands.
- Educate the customer on use and care of the product.
- Perform preventive maintenance and provide customer support.
- Trouble shoot all systems and determine root cause analysis and errors.
- Maintain detailed reports/records on service performed.
- Explain issues with equipment and repairs to the customer.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with installers and knowledge of the equipment they provide.
- Maintain open lines of communication to all levels of SRSI management.
- Cooperate with SRSI's technical team and share information across the organization.
- Follow all SRSI company policies, procedures, and protocols and all trainings for customer locations.

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
- High School diploma or GED with post High School technical training in two (2) or more of the following areas: Pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, electrical or mechanical. OR
- Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of focused, relevant experience in mechanical or technical areas where machinery, mechanical, electrical or electronic maintenance work was performed.
- Proven field service experience.
- Proficient in computer use in the field and basic software.
GENERAL SKILLS:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to install, repair, service, troubleshoot, and test equipment and some software issues.
- Advanced ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
- Ability to work flexible hours and around a changing schedule.
- Ability to travel as needed to service customers and train on new equipment and processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills.
- Working knowledge of basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently without much supervision.
- Strong ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Solid understanding of Ethernet communication and PLC functionality.
