About the opportunity

In these positions, you’ll join a highly experienced team of certified professionals who are known for their ability to remove and prune a variety of different types and sizes of trees. You are someone who is interested in or already has experience climbing. Your role will include scaling a tree to conduct pruning cuts, tree removal, cut, chip, and load brush/wood, amongst other responsibilities. Experienced Tree Climbers will also receive Union benefits.

The person who fills this position must be either someone who is either eager to learn the basics of climbing trees or is an experienced Tree Climber. He/She/They will work alongside our Arborists on a wide variety of commercial and residential tree removal projects around Northern California.

Your Responsibilities Include

Climb trees using rope and saddle
Pruning and Removing Trees/Shrubs
Tree ID skills and knowledge of proper pruning techniques
Tree Risk Assessments
Preferred Experience performing ornamental and natural pruning and shaping
Preferred Knowledge of knots, rigging techniques, tree cabling, and bracing

Requirements, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

Class A California Drivers License
Able to perform heavy lifting, bending, standing, reaching, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Customer service minded
Knowledge of safe work procedures
Speaks English, Spanish a plus
Punctuality and reliability are a must
Preferred (Experienced) minimum of 3 years experience as a tree climber
Preferred (Experienced) experience with managing crews and jobs

Compensation, Benefits and Perks:

This is a full-time, permanent position that will be worked on-site. Salary will be based on experience starting at $25.00/hr. ONLY Experienced Tree Climbers will have Union Benefits. After 90 days of employment, you’ll be offered these benefits and perks:
