Software Test Engineer

S3I is currently looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to support their US Navy contract. The ideal candidate possesses prior experience supporting military mission management systems as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent years of experience, in Engineering or other technical fields such as Computer Science, Computer Hardware, Mathematics, or Physics.  This work requires a DOD Secret clearance. Candidates should possess an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Job Title: Software Test Engineer
Work Schedule: Standard business hours Monday thru Friday
Job Classification: Exempt
Primary Location: Onsite in Hanover, MD with occasional travel as needed
Salary Range: $65,000 to $130,000 depending on experience

The Ideal Candidate possesses:

• Experience working with computer systems using Linux and the command line
• Strong computer hardware and software troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with both DoD and DCSA cybersecurity practices
• Familiarity with DoD sensor systems including EOIR, Radar, SIGINT, and others
• Familiarity with deploying to DoD cloud platforms including IL5 environments and higher
• Effective communication and organizational skills

Duties will include:

• Installing, Configuring, and Testing Systems and Software.
• Reviewing software requirements and preparing testing configurations
• Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements
• Configuring test bench systems to test software requirements
• Interacting with clients to understand software requirements
• Assisting with software requirements derivation
• Developing software test procedures to test software requirements
• Preparing test report and reviewing findings
• Field testing at various locations

Considerations and Experience include:

• Functional Linux Experience
• Knowledge of software development tools and techniques
• Familiarity with software configuration management and version control systems
• Strong software troubleshooting and evaluation skills
• Knowledge of DoD mission systems, sensors, and networks
• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or technical field
• US Citizenship with the ability to get a DoD Secret Clearance (required)
• Previous Minotaur experience (strongly desired)
