This role will entail interpreting messages during test flights and testing systems for the specific freighter.
System Integration Test Engineer
Description
The Systems Test team is looking for an engineer to join in the successful planning and execution of the Systems IPT lab and airplane test program. The role will allow you to join a team of integration minded engineers tasked with designing, developing, and performing tests in the new systems integration lab, Airplane Zero. The lab will be representative of multiple Systems and Propulsion functions, with testing focused on verification of multi-system integration and aircraft service readiness. This position will provide exposure to multiple aircraft functions, experience in airplane-level thinking, and hands on testing.
Specific statement of work for the role includes:
- Development of detailed requirements and resolution of issues related to the systems integration test lab design
- Development and execution of airplane-level integrated lab test procedures, including data analysis and troubleshooting problems
- Working with multiple teams within the Airplane Systems IPT to coordinate test plans for efficient operation
- Close coordination with the Test & Evaluation organization for lab and airplane test planning and execution
The desired experiences and capabilities include:
- Knowledge of at least one airplane system
- Experience testing in a lab and/or airplane test environment is preferred
- Ability to work with multiple teams / organizations
- Ability and desire to understand multiple system interactions and airplane level impacts (big picture perspective)
- Ability to get results with influence and no authority
Will require the ability to travel to Seattle Field on a semi-regular basis.
