Job description

Job Summary:
The University of Virginia Darden School of Business is seeking a Boomi Integration Engineer to join their Digital Solutions & Integration team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and validating enterprise integrations that connect various systems, ensuring secure and reliable data exchange across academic systems.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Darden Strategic IT team and the UVA Boomi Integration team to align solutions with the UVA-managed Boomi platform
• Coordinate with the UVA Boomi Integration team to incorporate shared best practices and governance standards, including maintaining naming conventions, version control, and documentation standards
• Define and document integration patterns, data flows, and interface standards consistent with Darden and UVA enterprise architectures
• Design, develop, and implement integrations between systems using Dell Boomi including: Student Information Systems (SIS), CRM platforms, Learning management platforms, Third-party SaaS tools
• Build, configure, and test Boomi processes, connectors, and data mappings
• Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring
• Support integration testing cycles, including unit, system, and end-to-end testing
• Assist with cutover planning and go-live readiness related to integrations
• Coordinate closely with the Darden Strategic IT team and the UVA Boomi Integration team to ensure compliance with UVA standards
• Participate in technical discussions and implementation planning with third-party vendors
• Document integration architecture, data mappings, and operational procedures
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years relevant professional experience required; may consider combination of relevant experience, education, certification(s) in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing integrations using Dell Boomi preferred
• Experience integrating enterprise systems, such as SIS platforms, SaaS applications, or CRMs
• Strong understanding of integration architectures, APIs, data modeling, and middleware platforms
• Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors
• Demonstrated experience developing solutions using JavaScript and Groovy
Preferred:
• Boomi certification(s)
• Experience with the integration of higher-education platforms
• Familiarity with student lifecycle processes and systems
• Experience working in shared-services IT environments
• Experience with version control systems (Git or SVN) and related concepts
