Machinist II

KYOCERA SENCO Industrial Tools, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of industrial tools and fastening solutions. We are seeking a talented Machinist, Level II, to join our Special Equipment team in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pay minimum: $23/hr+ and up (pay is based on qualifications at start of employment)

This position reports directly to the SE Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret complicated tooling and part drawings.
• Work with advanced shop mathematics to include algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate unknown angles, linear dimensions, and speeds and feeds.
• Devise and make holding fixtures.
• Shape and sharpen cutting tools.
• Applies a broad knowledge of machining including machining characteristics of various materials, finishing techniques, and assembly.
• Set up and operate a wide variety of standard machine tools to work to very close tolerances (.0002).
  1. Machines to include vertical and horizontal mills, engine lathes, surface grinders, and at least two other grinding disciplines.
• Able to understand experienced CNC language.
• Can do GD&T proofing.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Is above average in machinery proficiency.
• Show casing a high degree of mental concentration to complete plan and layout sequencing of machining and assembly of complicated fastener tooling and components.
• Devise and make holding fixtures.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to document activities in the form of reports, sketches, etc.
• To perform these activities requires a high school or vocational school graduate with courses in shop mathematics to be supplemented by four years’ experience in a machining discipline.
• Must possess a knowledge of cutter geometry, feeds, speeds, heat treat characteristics, and metals.
• Must know proper procedures for doing surface plate inspection and be adept in using a variety of precision hand tools and small shop equipment.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of machinist experience.
• Must be able to check their own work for errors and correct any mistakes discovered.
• To acquire the above trades knowledge would require a minimum of four years background in metallurgy including using a wide variety of machine tools in precision machining environment. Experience can be a combination of previous experience and formal education.

Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs 75% of the time.
• Requires the ability to work with and effectively solve problems concerning technical tooling difficulties.
• 75% of the time, standing during your shift.
• Must have above average manual dexterity in the assembly of components and complex set ups.
• Must be able to work within tight spaces, 75% of the time.
• Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment 100% of the time.
