Staff Accountant

AppleTree Staffing is currently looking for a staff accountant for a great company in Indianapolis. 
 
Overall, we are looking for someone that is technical enough and has enough experience to provide intermediate to advanced accounting services to a regular portfolio of customers.
 
Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to internal and external customers
• Consult with tax specialist to ensure fixed asset calculations
• Record intangibles
• Review adjustments from prior period
• Prepare for audits and consult with auditors
• Plan engagements and takes lead on basic controllership engagements
• Prepare budgets and projections in coordination with management
• Compile and review financial documents (with and without footnotes)
• Conduct complex payroll expense reconciliation with and without accruals
• Review distribution accounts
• Review rental and lease agreements
• Reconcile complex accounts
• Reconcile items such as credit card statements, pay balances, and basic accounts
• Record financial information such as checks issued, credit card transactions, revenue/receipts, or basic payroll using accounting software
• Download bank activity and complete bank account reconciliations
• Participates in company meetings and LinkedIn presence
• Contributes ideas and feedback regarding company marketing efforts

 
Additional responsibilities may be assigned. 
 
Requirements:

• Certified Public Accountant (or current pursuit of) is required
• BS in Accounting
• 1-3 years accounting experience
• Past public accounting experience
• Ability to pass background investigation and drug screen
• Experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
• Ability to drive to/from client sites

 
 
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $50-65k+ depending on experience
