(Also includes some Park District Facility/Program Usage Benefits)
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 11:00am - 1:30pm
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Early Childhood Manager. Responsible for Introductory Dual Language Polish-English planning, organizing, teaching and implementing lessons. Providing engaging, play-based, age appropriate, early learning dual language instruction and experiences in a conversational Polish-English setting for 2.5 - 5 year olds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop & instruct Dual Language Polish-English introductory lessons.
- Provide play-based learning opportunities, including Dual Language Polish-English games, read-alouds, traditions, circle time, fingerplays, & build daily routine & fluency.
- Implement preschool procedures/policies with staff in a cooperative manner.
- Develop and foster open communication between families, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Share responsibility of maintaining class records and documentation.
- Attend and participate in monthly meetings, preschool teams and trainings.
- Attend a minimum of 24 hours (30 hours during the first year) of trainings/workshops throughout the school year.
- Follow standards, responsibilities, and classroom duties as addressed in the Teachers’ Manual.
- Record accurate hours worked.
- Perform the job safely, in compliance with district policies, procedures, work & safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
- Develop confidence, social skills, and independence in children.
- Provide a safe and developmentally appropriate environment with interactive play & process art that promotes children’s development.
- Be sensitive to the needs of our Preschool children and families.
- Encourage open communication between families and staff.
- Actively embrace diversity, equality, & inclusion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient computer skills
- Knowledge of early learning best practices & child development
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills in both Polish & English
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 18 yrs. Old with GED or High School Diploma
- Proven positive experiences with children in a dual language setting
