Counter-Form LLC, a leading regional manufacturer of laminate countertops, is seeking candidates for a Manufacturing Engineer.


Summary: The primary objective of the Manufacturing Engineer position is to enhance the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing processes. They will aid in the examination of workflow, gathering and analyzing data, and pinpointing areas that require process enhancement. The duties of the Manufacturing Engineer role encompass providing tactical assistance for ongoing plant operations as well as strategically implementing engineering projects of various scales to address the evolving demands of the business. This entails assessing current processes, identifying systems that enhance production, reliability, and sustainability, minimize costs, and establish optimal practices.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and assess existing processes and workflows.
  • Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures.
  • Assembles reports to document process status and changes.
  • Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
  • Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.
  • Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes, as well as testing those methods.
  • Conducts risk assessments.
  • Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Contributes to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Research and recommend new equipment and automation to upper management.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes; apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Works with Plant Manager, General Manager and Maintenance Manager on various facility improvement projects
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs, as well as reviewing schedules and future production requirements, aids management in making informed decisions.
  • Examine manufacturing processes, schedules, methodologies and other information and provide management with reports with data and statistics to allow management to fully comprehend future needs for the manufacturing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems
  • Proficient with computer and information technology
  • Knowledge of process engineering software systems
  • Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • Valid Engineering license
  • Previous experience working with CAD and AutoCAD
  • At least five to eight (5-8) years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related field, with at least three years of management experience leading manufacturing.
  • This position requires the possession of a valid WI driver’s license.
  • Flexibility in the role includes the ability to work from home and occasionally travel overnight.
