Part Time CDL-A Driver

Portside Truck Repair (in conjunction with Diversified Automotive, Inc) is looking for an experienced CDL driver to assist in our fleet management efforts. 

Portside Truck Repair operates at 4 locations throughout the Northeast (Charlestown MA, Spencer MA, Selkirk NY, Ridgefield NJ) at which Diversified Automotive trucks are serviced and stored.  The primary responsibility of our part-time driver is to provide relocation services for trucks throughout our network.  Most trips are day trips, but on rare occasions you may be asked to stay out.

This is a perfect opportunity for a retired CDL driver looking for part time work.  Candidates can anticipate working 2-3 days a week and roughly 20-30 hours per week.   More hours may be available at peak periods.  The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:

Valid CDL-A license in good standing

Clean MVR with good safety record

Compliance with DOT drug testing requirements

Ability to load and secure a single vehicle to the car carrier (requires some physical agility)

Willingness to do an overnight if necessary (CLC card provided)

Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions

Fluent English speaker

Works well with others

Massachusetts or CT resident (within 30 minutes of either Charlestown or Spencer location)
