Test Technician

SAPA Transmission in its growth in the US is looking for a Test Technician to test fully automatic transmissions for the US Army tracked vehicles in our Cross-Drive dynamometer. You as a Test Technician will join our Engineering Department and will be responsible for testing different types of transmission to ensure quality, functionality, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Execute test procedures in transmission-dyno for automatic transmissions.
• Inspect transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Maintain and utilize computer software programs for test data acquisition.
• Perform minor maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation, and control systems for test cell operation.
• Supervise major maintenance performed by third parties.
• Set up transmissions, engines, stands and test instrumentation in the test cell.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience with dynamometers testing transmissions is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of data acquisition systems - hardware/software (Dewesoft).
• Basic knowledge of heat exchangers, cooling and fuel systems.
• Basic understanding of engines and transmissions operation.
• Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork and cooperation.
• Availability for traveling occasionally.
