The Junior Travel Agent for the Travel department handles and processes all travel-related documentation, performs credit card reconciliations, makes billing arrangements, conducts contract negotiations, and coordinates other department activities. He/she is also responsible for helping to optimize travel operations and preparing reports.
What you will need
- 3 or more years of administrative experience is required.
- Previous travel experience is required.
- At least 2 years of experience using the Sabre travel reservation system.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors of direct travel, such as car rental agencies, hotels, and airlines.
- Create travel itineraries and book flights and accommodation as directed by the Travel Manager.
- Negotiate preferred rates with vendors of direct travel.
- Process all travel-related documentation and payments.
- Assist the Travel Manager by researching travel deals and assessing prices and services.
- Create, optimize, and monitor corporate travel policies.
- Prepare travel budget reports.
- Analyze and prepare reports on travel spending.
- Assist the Travel Manager with any travel-related issues that may arise.
- May be required to work evenings depending on travel needs and unforeseen circumstances that arise.
