Job Title: FORKLIFT/Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Reports To: Distribution Manager
Summary: Responsible for performing receiving responsibilities and processing related paperwork by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Receives and inspects incoming shipments for discrepancies and damage and reports problems promptly to the appropriate person. *
2. Stores leather and warehouse supplies within the warehouse according to product by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and stacking by hand or safely using material handling equipment. *
3. Signs for incoming deliveries, loads, and unloads delivery trailers/trucks by hand or with material handling equipment as needed. *
4. Maintains receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.*
5. Reports receiving details to the appropriate department on a regular and timely basis.*
6. Maintains the warehouse and receiving area in a safe and orderly manner.*
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment:
Forklift truck certification required!
