Carpenter

CARPENTER The Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates material lists and coordinates deliveries to the jobsite
• Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Cuts and shapes forms, framing materials, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
• Uses various hand and power tools to safely and securely build assigned projects.
• Joins materials with the appropriate fasteners or adhesives.
• Ensures the accuracy of work by checking framing and finishes with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
• Creates wooden forms for small concrete pours or assisting with custom framing details.
• Erects and dismantles scaffolding and safety barriers.
• Installs windows and doors, finishes trim, cabinetry, lavatory accessories and specialties.
• Adheres to local building codes and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Attend work inspections from building officials and communicate the work completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, a carpenter will be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. This individual will have to lift and carry heavy objects and be on their feet or knees for majority of a work shift.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma required; successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program preferred
  
  
• 10+ years of experience required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen is required

• Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.

Location

This position is based in our Minot, ND office; however, travel to project sites is required on an ongoing basis.

Compensation Information

$30-$38/hour DOE.
