The Helsing Group Inc in looking to fill a full time Facilities Maintenance Technician/Handyman position
within property management company with 200+ condominium and other properties. Job duties may
include minor plumbing repair, electrical trouble shooting, carpentry, painting, and other general property
touch up and maintenance duties on building and grounds.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Completes assigned work orders generated from Association Management staff for service, as well as preventative maintenance on the property by diagnosing the source or cause of an issue or problem, and making repairs in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
- Follows procedures for accessing, billing for, and obtaining materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items by tracking inventory used, returning unused items to the established location.
- Complete documentation and other paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion so that service requests can be appropriately documented and tracked.
- Assists in maintaining the grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up trash and debris, pressure-washing, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with staff and vendors regarding needed maintenance and repair of facilities.
- Work independently as well as a team player within department and with others.
- Use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail, within stated deadlines.
- Maintain a well-organized and safe work area on all properties.
Requirements:
Ability to trouble shoot issues or repairs related to plumbing, carpentry, and electrical with the capability to research repairs and not be afraid to try out what was researched in a safe manner
- Hands-on knowledge and experience in the safe operation of a variety of tools, machinery and power equipment used in performing essential functions
- Effective communicator both orally and in writing, including the ability to interact/communicate with all types of members of the community including teachers, and administrators, vendors
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, invoices, forms, and governmental regulations
- Ability to walk, stand, maintain balance, climb ladders, crouch, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level
- Ability to withstand indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including dirt, dust, pollen, odors, sun, wetness, rain, fumes, temperatures, noise, or machinery vibrations.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with computer systems and software programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, IPhone, and Salesforce.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from main office to properties as directed.
- Comply with Cal-OSHA requirements and training as appropriate.
