Position Summary:

The Food Service Staff will provide Agfinity customers with quality food prepared in a clean environment by ensuring that all products used meet the standards and guidelines of Agfinity. Selling, and marketing Tony Gringo’s, Spice & Slice, and Prepared Food items, and related products in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
  • Manage and maintain the Pizza, Burrito, and Sandwich stations.
  • Support the C Store staff in helping customers in accordance with the Customer Service Standards
  • Produce pizzas, burritos, sandwiches and keep the hot stations full.
  • Manage incoming orders from customers.
  • Keep prep stations stocked and ready for business.
  • Wipe down all surfaces/maintain a clean, sanitary, and well stocked work area that complies with the Health Department regulations.
  • Maintain proper handling of food practice to avoid cross contamination, including proper dating/FIFO rotation, monitoring of temp logs, as well as ensuring all food items stored in walk-in are properly covered, labeled, and dated.
  • Communicate with the Store Manager on the movement of the food stations, conveying any concerns or suggestions on items.
  • Assist Store Manager with the ordering of supplies used for the Pizza, burritos, and sandwiches; making sure that supplies are always in stock.
  • Preserve an open level of communication and cooperation with all Food Service/C-Store staff, and proactively assist customers within the guidelines outlined in our employee handbook.
  • Following all company policies as written in the policy manual.
  • Follow Tony Gringo’s, Spice & Slice, and Prepared Food recipes, cleaning procedures, uniform dress codes.
  • Ability to conduct inventory on food ingredients, tracking waste, maintaining food build-ups.

Other Duties:

  • Attend scheduled department meetings and all store meetings.
  • Collecting cash, checks, credit cards or charge payments from customer and making change for cash transactions.
  • Following daily checkout procedures to assist in daily balancing of cash drawers.
  • Assisting in other areas/departments of the store as needed.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Prior food handling and or fast-food experience.
  • Retail customer service.

Knowledge/Skills/Reasoning Ability:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to use a point-of-sale system.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Intermediate cutlery skills.
  • Ability to read and understand recipes, including extending recipes.
  • Ability to perform basic math for recipe measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Additional Information:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Must adhere to the Health Department regulations.
  • Must complete Food Handlers Certification within 10-days of employment.


This position does require a pre-hire, post-offer criminal background check, and a drug screen.
