Come join our team as a Full Day Head Start Teacher's Assistant by supporting Educational Opportunities for Children & Families (EOCF) realize a common mission. In this role you will assist the Teacher provide and implement a developmentally appropriate early childhood education experience for children enrolled in Head Start and/or ECEAP programs. This benefited position is budgeted for 1832 hours / 229 days per year, and scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Fully qualified $15.07 General schedule is Monday- Friday day time hours.

Required Education: Enrolled in program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree, or, enrolled in a child development associate credential or WA State Initial Certificate in ECE program to be completed within two (2) years.
Preferred Education: Certificate of proficiency in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college, current CDA certificate, or WA State Initial Certificate in ECE.
Preferred Experience: One year experience with groups of children 3 to 5 years of age in an early childhood setting.

* Bi-lingual highly desired.
Knowledge of:
- Developmentally appropriate practices for 3 to 5 year old children.
- Principles of child development and Early Childhood Curriculum planning.
- Safety issues for children and adults.
Ability to:
- Implement established child development practices, principles and performance standards in a comprehensive classroom environment.
- Adopt EOCF's commitment to supporting and strengthening children and families.
- Work cooperatively with staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
- Prepare and manage records, reports and other documents as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Use the team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.
- Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.
- Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.
- Perform the physical requirements of the job which include regular crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor to assist and engage with children, and outdoors on a playground setting monitoring safe play and supervision.
