Position Summary:

Strength and Conditioning specialist/ Instructor will be responsible for leading, developing and executing lesson plans for Cary Leeds students. They must have a strong strength and conditioning background and have interest in working with kids ages 10-18 years of age. The level of these tennis players ranges from novice-high-performance.

The ideal candidate will be able to develop lesson plans that help maximize the athleticism of our athletes. Building up their agility, balance, stamina, strength and tennis specific movements to prepare them to compete at the highest levels of the game.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Supervise participants while maintaining order, providing a conducive learning environment, ensuring their safety.
  • Design lesson plans, ensuring all activities have learning goals that highlight the development of our kid’s athleticism.
  • Facilitate fitness sessions with the students placing an emphasis on proper form and technique Provide our marketing team with monthly themes that highlight what the kids will be working on for the month.
  • Complete all projects and tasks as requested, while ensuring the safety and security of all participants and the smooth operation of programming.
  • Attend all meetings, training workshops and special events, as required, inclusive of those outside of program hours.
  • Serve as a positive and engaging role model for students; work with students one-on-one, when necessary, utilizing flexibility to meet their needs.
  • Communicate with the Director of Tennis and the Director of Player Development often to ensure the success of programming and quality of instruction.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with youth in the strength and conditioning space.
  • Experience working with tennis players in particular is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create interactive academic and/or enrichment activities that are age appropriate.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with a broad range of diverse constituents.
  • Knowledge of tennis is preferred.

Job Type: Part-Time

Location: Bronx

Salary Range: $40-$45 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Please note: This is an in-person position. 10-15 hours will be provided weekly.
