The Eye Studio has an immediate opening for a Dispensing Optician. Established in the heart of Portland’s bustling Pearl District, our practice has been providing quality care to patients, families, and businesses alike since 2005. Dr. Tina Tsai has continued to ensure we are providing comprehensive medical eye and vision care with a commitment towards our patients “Vision Wellness Experience.”

This position is full-time. We operate from Monday-Saturday. We offer competitive wages and excellent employee benefits. Pay scale is based on experience.

Job Duties:

Included but not limited to the following:

Assist patients in selecting the best lens/frame combination, tailored to patients' prescription, lifestyle, and preferences. Eligible candidates will be motivated to “educate” rather than “sell.”
Verify insurance benefits for patients, process orders through our cloud based EHR, and submit vision claims in a timely manner.
Work directly with optical labs to ensure accurate and timely production of glasses
Measure, fit, adjust, and dispense prescription eyewear (eyeglasses and contact lenses)
Perform minor repairs including, but not limited to, screw and/or nose pad replacements.
Assist front desk coordinator with phones and scheduling. Proper phone etiquette is a must.
Handling and presentation of luxury eyewear

Skills & Qualifications:

Recent Optical Experience: Within 3 yrs required.

Positive Attitude: Friendly and highly motivated to provide the best patient care

Team Player: Works well with staff and physicians.

Computer Experience: Aptitude for learning new systems and devices.

Attention to Detail: Mistakes are forgiven, but thorough quality work is a habit.

Wages & Benefits:

Pay: $20+ per hour. Based on experience.
