Job Description

Cabinet Finisher
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience preparing, sanding, or stripping wood or metal surfaces for the application of primer; or One (1) year experience with polishing, buffing and/or One (1) year of touch up painting by hand or similar artistic background; or specialized technical school certification in related field
- Able to interpret furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must have visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors or rework.
- Able to use standard spray paint equipment: paint guns, sanding equipment, dual action orbital sander and common hand tools.
- Must not be abnormally allergic to paint, paint stripper, solvents, primers or other paint related products that produce fumes or dust while using.
- Ability to use a respirator.
- Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs and work in confined spaces.
- Aircraft cabinetry finish experience.
- Able to solve practical problems.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Work from drawings, sketches, pictures, or verbal specifications to stain, finish, and polish cabinets, cabinet parts, and sub-assemblies including inlays, patterns, and special designs.
- Strip finish as needed.
- Prepare surfaces before painting by sanding, steaming, filling, and cleaning.
- Protect all areas by covering with proper materials before painting or stripping.
- Select and mix proper paint to the Manufacturer's specifications. May be required to experiment with special paints and related products.
- Set up, use spray gun for proper application of urethane, lacquer, enamel, water base, and epoxy paints.
- Touch up woodwork with brush, airbrush, and/or spray gun, blend-in techniques.
- Complete tasks within assigned time limits.
- Log labor data into the computerized collection system for work orders, time and attendance tracking.
- May lead or train other personnel on specific job assignments.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Cabinet Fabricator
- Cabinet fabrication experience.
- Able to solve practical problems
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Interprets 3D design data, digital industrialization company standards and performs necessary calculations using shop math to complete and install subassemblies.
- Modifies completed assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Performs check of fabricated items.
- Selects and applies proper glues, adhesives, and hardware.
- Installs completed cabinet assembly or components using brackets, metal reinforcements, and angles.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area (Supports 5S).
- Completes tasks within assigned time limits.
- Determines work to be accomplished to complete assignments within established schedules and plans accordingly.
- Accurately launches and closes operations for proper data collection for time tracking and traceability.
- May lead and train other personnel on specific job assignments as directed by supervision.
- Works in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Sets up and operates standard shop equipment.
- Performs laminating tasks for cabinetry and related items or parts.
