Geographical Information System (GIS) Developer/Support

Overview:
ESO Consultants is seeking a highly skilled GIS Developer/Support professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for recommending, designing, developing, supporting, and administering GIS systems required to support day-to-day operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, coordinating problem resolution, and providing 24/7 support. Strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend, design, develop, support, and administer GIS systems required for day-to-day operations.
- Assist with the development of strategies, integration, and improvement projects to ensure efficient operation of all mission-critical software.
- Maintain requirements and validate data for device location information, facility drawings, map feature styling, base map layer selection, and requirements.
- Coordinate problem resolution with internal technicians, external contractors, and agency operations staff.
- Perform system backup processes, disaster recovery, and business continuity to ensure recovery in the event of a disaster.
- Provide 24/7 support and occasional travel throughout the relevant region to support remote offices.
- Assist with the creation, modification, and quality control of geospatial data for company-wide use.
- Work with other groups and departments to develop efficient workflows aligned with Enterprise GIS goals.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain user documentation.
- Develop and maintain technical and standard documentation for program development activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge in management, administration, development, and integration with ESRI GIS software products.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems in a dynamic environment.
- Thorough understanding of Public Safety Systems, Electronic Security Systems, and/or Physical Security Information Management.
- Hands-on experience supporting ESRI GIS software, AGOL/Portal of ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Desktop.
- Working knowledge in Railroad and/or Bus operation.
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
- Ability to modify/adapt systems, applications, and programs to meet business requirements.
- Understanding of complex relational database organization, design, and functionality.
- Experience in desktop/mobile computer support and troubleshooting software-related problems.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or combined with related experience).
- Recent, related experience (approximately 0 - 3 years) in planning/analysis and GIS, preferably in transportation operations.
- Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of GIS/GPS, ESRI ArcGIS software, database management systems, Microsoft Office, and PowerBI.
