Information System Security Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure the security and integrity of our classified information systems. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining robust security protocols, coordinating with both internal teams and external agencies, and overseeing the implementation of security measures across our systems. The qualified candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to coordinate user needs with security requirements and protocols.

This position requires an active DOD Security Clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enforce, and maintain security protocols for classified information systems in collaboration with IT and security teams
• Lead the formulation of a comprehensive IS security program and policies
• Oversee operational information systems security implementation, ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines
• Work closely with CTO to set priorities, manage project timelines and scheduling, and assist in planning long-term initiatives
• Coordinate with Security Control Assessors (SCA) on system authorization and reauthorization processes
• Manage Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) to adhere to established IS policies and procedures
• Supervise System Administrators (SAs) to ensure implementation and maintenance of required security measures
• Govern procedures for handling classified media and secure data transfers
• Maintain meticulous records related to classified information systems
• Lead IS security inspections, tests, and reviews
• Address IS incidents or vulnerabilities promptly and effectively
• Collaborate with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) to develop and implement a robust IS security education, training, and awareness program
• Ensure configuration management (CM) policies for hardware/software authorization on IS are adhered to
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, or Associate degree with at least 6 years' relevant experience
• Current holder of Security+ certification or higher
• Meets DoD 8140 (8570.1) Certification Requirements as an IAM Level I; ability to obtain IAM Level II
• Proficient in controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and using auditing tools and secure data transfer methods between information systems
