Job Description
Cosmetic Physician Partners has established a chain of medical aesthetic clinics throughout the United States. We are seeking a General Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team at AboutSkin Dermatology and DermSurgery. We are a team of highly experienced, talented, Board-Certified Dermatologists devoted to advanced surgical procedures and medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care according to physician’s instruction and in accordance with recognized techniques and procedures and established standards and policies to maintain the health and general well-being of the patient.
  • Provide preoperative and post-operative teaching for both patient and family members.
  • Provide assistance during surgery or other procedures as indicated.
  • Set up patient for surgery including prepping area, draping with sterile drapes, setting up clean tray with anesthesia and preparing instruments.
  • Scrub in as assistant to surgeon. Hand instruments and cut suture, keep operative area clean and organized. Administer anesthesia as directed by physician.
  • Prepare equipment and paperwork for surgery.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
  • Rooming & completing patient intake/obtaining HPI.
  • Scribing while assisting with exams; attention to detail is key.
  • Sun protection education.
  • Skin cancer education.
  • Clean and sterile techniques are used throughout the practice.
  • OSHA compliancy.
  • HIPAA compliancy.
  • Knowledge of suture types.
  • Ability to assist in wound care, suture removals, staple removal.
  • Setting up & assisting with procedures (i.e., biopsies, excisions, lasers, injectables, etc.).
  • Sterilizing instruments & packing instruments.
  • Preparing & stocking rooms.
  • Scheduling future appointments when applicable.
  • Return patient voicemails throughout the day (all calls returned before leaving for the end of the day).
  • Follows protocol to ensure MIPS Quality measures are completed for each patient.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of current products; ability to discuss and recommend them to patients in the room. 
  • Ability to set up all lasers and assist during treatment (intraocular eye shields, numbing, visia photos, etc.).
  • Exercises problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when dealing with patients.
  • Ensures the patient feels welcome to the practice.
  • Empathetic with patients’ needs and concerns.
  • Promptly addresses patient complaints and other patient-related issues, including management involvement. 
  • Directs staff to the appropriate supervisor or manager to streamline workflows and increase efficiencies. 
Qualifications
  • Certified medical assistants are preferred
  • Candidates with dermatology experience will be given preference.
  • Dermatology certification is required for candidates without dermatology experience, upon hiring. Certification is paid for by AboutSkin and must be completed upon first 6 weeks of employment.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Education: Certified or Registered Medical Assistants preferred
  • Physical requirements: Able to sit, stand, and move around for long hours at a time. Able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Language proficiency: excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Manages own workload effectively while being flexible to new demands.
  • Ability to accept and delegate responsibility, make sound judgments, and accurately assess when to refer issues to the administrative/management team.
  • Familiar with EMA by Modernizing Medicine or previous EMR experience. 
  • Excellent customer service with a patient focus.
  • Must be able to pass background check. 
  • Reliable transportation.
Work Schedule:
  • Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm 
  • Float between Greenwood Village & Lone Tree Locations
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay Range: $20 - $25/hour based on experience
