OVERVIEW:

We are looking for motivated, friendly and efficient people to join our team! Our security system installers and technicians are responsible for the tasks associated with the installation, upgrade and repair of alarm systems, cameras, home automations and more for our commercial and residential clients. Communication is a key ingredient to success. The right candidate will receive hands-on training to understand our standards of installation and service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Customer Support:

• Install and program systems based on sales specifications.
• Provide customer training and support to exceed expectations.
• Ensure all customers are aware of the capabilities and functions of their systems.
• Operate with the highest level of professionalism as a representative of Guardian Security Systems, Inc.
• Promote continuous improvement in the workplace
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required

Workmanship/Product Knowledge/Teamwork:

• Ensure all installations meet our quality standards
• All installations need to be in accordance with all laws and regulations.
• Strive to increase efficiency on all installations.
• Maintain cleanliness of all work equipment, truck, and especially customers’ location.
• Retain high level working knowledge of all systems installed by our team

TECHNICIAN SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to be physically active including using and climbing ladders, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
• Able to squat, kneel, bend, crawl and climb – access attic and crawl spaces as needed.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to read schematic drawings and blue prints.
• 3-5 years of experience in security or equivalent industry is preferred, but not required
• Basic networking knowledge a plus
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to remain focused and effectively multi-task within a fast-paced & dynamic environment
• Ability to troubleshoot and conduct diagnostics to successfully problem solve under pressure
• Motivated team player with positive attitude and desire to learn and deliver high-quality work
• Strong customer service skills and genuine desire to interact with customers including maintaining a professional appearance
• Flexibility with full-time schedule, including shift assignments on weekends/evenings, and on-call rotation availability.

Must possess a current and valid Alaska Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.

Must have a minimum of 9 years driving experience, with 12 months of experience driving in Alaska.

Must be able to pass a background check, which includes an employment history and criminal history check with no felony convictions.
