Junior Development Engineer, Software

Position Summary:

This position primary responsibility is for software design, development and maintenance for all Zenner software products for the AMR/AMI markets internationally. Develops and maintains software, specifications and documentation as it relates to software development and design. Develops software for Zenner’s core software products. Develops software systems for testing equipment and manufacturing of Zenner products. Will coordinate with outside software developers to assure product functionality and quality. Will work with sub-contractors to complete projects on budget and on schedule.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science required in an in a computer science discipline or equivalent real-world experience.
• Must have 2+ years’ experience software/systems design and implementation
• Must have Java and Microsoft web development experience
• Must be capable of successfully designing and bringing to market web/database products using Java and SQL
• Must have experience with creating stored procedures
• Capable of doing SQL queries
• Capable of database structures and design
• Capable of setting up quality control programs and testing systems
• Excellent documentation skills
• Self-motivated with the capability to drive development efforts to completion

Responsible for the development of web based system for the AMR/AMI software platform as well as application development for test and mobile reading

Management of the AMR/AMI software platform development for Zenner products working as needed with other engineers internally and with sub-contractors to meet market specifications and quality requirements.

Assist with the defining of product requirements and performance specifications with sales and marketing to meet customer and market demands.

10%

Recommends changes or improvements in the products by analyzing and evaluating data from the field concerning products and product applications.

5%

Assist with the testing techniques and equipment to ensure that final products are produced to meet market specifications and quality requirements

5%

Originates engineering documentation. Ensures backup programs are adequately maintained.

5%

Assists with the testing of new products to ensure performance reliability

5%
