Job Summary: As the Senior HVAC/Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our construction projects by accurately estimating project costs and managing customer relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction HVAC projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements.
• Conduct site visits and gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
• Collaborate with department managers, project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
• Work closely with the department manager/project manager to translate customer specifications and drawings into bills of material, projected budget costs and cost estimates.
• Manage the bid strategy and proposal effort both internally and externally, provide competitive analysis, prepare proposal pricing.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Review and analyze contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC construction estimating or related role.
• A strong background in HVAC, piping, and/or ductwork preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully estimating projects within budgetary constraints.
• Experience managing multiple bids through the entire bid process.
• Highly skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of commercial HVAC construction industry, services, and market.
• Well-versed in FastPIPE and FastDUCT estimating software.
• Strong mathematical skills for calculating costs and estimating timeframes.
• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail.
• Customer service, negotiation, and planning skills.
• Time management skills; able to prioritize work and complete projects on time.
• Ability to present information in a clear and accurate manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
