Design Engineer

Job Description
Primary Role in the Organization:
2D / 3D Plastic Injection Design and Development. of Interior / Exterior Products
Design for Manufacturability (Best Practices)
Reports To:
Manager, Design
Supervises:
N/A
Responsibilities:
1.) Interface with project manager concerning design specifications and other facets of
product development.
2.) 2D / 3D CAD Design, Surfacing, Solids, Wireframe, Section View Creation
3.) Develop and Release Engineering Change Notices
4.) Design Review schedule & report
5.) Participate in Customer meetings and Supplier interface
6.) Support Prototype Build and Delivery to the Customer
7.) APQP support
8.) Support all programs and certifications obtained by Neaton:
(i.e.; J-Sox, TS16949, and ISO14001)
Qualifications:
• Experience
1.) “Prefer” Prior experience in OEM interfacing
2.) “Prefer” Prior experience “Plastic Injection” Part Design with 3D CAD
Education”
Four Year Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
Requirements:
• Physical Demands
1.) Must be able to lift 50lbs on an occasional basis during sorts or inventory.
2.) Keyboarding, sitting, walking, bending and standing. No unusual requirements for physical
strength other than normal office activities.
3.) Demonstrates the ability to consistently meet the dept. work schedules and be flexible with hours
if required.

2.) Ability to use gauges and/or other design equipment effectively.
• Mental/Cognitive Demands
1.) Working knowledge of plastics and plastic injection molds.
2.) Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
3.) Analytical ability to reason out design concepts.
