Project Manager - Steel Fabrication

Job description

We are a metals fabrication shop located in Heber City, UT. We work on a wide range of projects including custom steel staircases, railings, structural steel, and other various residential construction projects in Summit and Wasatch Counties. We offer a wide range of capabilities to our clients. Currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team and help expand our company. This is a growth opportunity. Candidates must be dedicated to quality craftsmanship and looking to build a career with our company. The ideal candidate for this position will have an understanding of the residential steel fabrication industry including working with structural and ornamental steel projects. Additional experience in the building industry is required and you must have demonstrated experience in the building trades. Previous work as a fabricator at a high-end fabrication shop is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the fabrication process from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents to guide the design and fabrication team.
- Collaborate with homeowners, general contractors, architects, engineers, steel detailers, project managers, site superintendents, fabricators, and other tradespeople.
- Develop and implement fabrication plans, including determining the necessary materials, equipment, and manpower.
- Monitor production progress, identify any issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the fabrication process.
- Train and supervise fabrication staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including materials used, labor hours, and project costs.

- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate via phone, text, email, and other communication platforms

- Manage approximately 50-100 active projects and 15 employees on projects from start to finish including coordinating site meetings, giving direction to steel detailers, redlining shop drawings, ordering materials, working with the shop manager and lead fabricators to ensure projects are on schedule

- Coordinate with a multitude of vendors to collaborate on projects, and work with the owners to establish standards and procedures.

Experience:
- Proven experience in fabrication or construction management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with Autodesk software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
