Civil Design Engineer

Headzup is a Fast-growing company in the Material Handling and Storage industry with clients nationwide. We are looking to add a Civil Design Engineer to our team, who can use their existing engineering background and concept knowledge while maintaining a sales and business mindset. An ideal candidate has a strong technical and engineering foundation but can also excel at building client relationships and providing excellent customer service. Training for this job will be in-person, but after completion, there is a possibility for a transition to a hybrid work-from-home schedule. Employees will still be required to visit job sites and meet with clients if working from home.

Responsibilities:

• Visiting customer locations to complete accurate “as-built” drawings of their warehouses
• Working with customers and the sales team to create new or modified material handling system layouts in our clients’ warehouses/distribution centers
• Generating material lists based on new designs for the estimation department
• Pre-engineering all structural component specifications for bills of material generated by the design team
• Creating drawing packages to be sent to our Professional Engineering partners for signing and sealing
• Assisting with the annual testing process on all materials stocked by Headzup
• Communicating project and design details to the project management and installation teams
• Collaborating with other colleagues regarding complex diagrams
• Providing outstanding customer service throughout the design process
• Travel is a key component of this position, so maintaining a valid driver’s license and a functioning vehicle AT ALL TIMES is a condition of your employment at Headzup, Inc., as is a willingness to travel throughout each of our key sales territories in PA.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil preferred, Mechanical, Industrial) or Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., drafting, engineering technology, etc.)
• Solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Minimum 2 years of classes / professional experience working with AutoCAD
• Minimum 2 years of classes / professional experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• A customer-focused and results-orientated attitude with the drive to support sales growth
• Excellent presentation skills
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, environment
• An “I’m All-In” attitude
