Swim Instructor

We offer fully paid training, immediately starting at $15-18 per hour, and your lifeguard certification is on us, too! Just bring your passion for helping others and your fin-tastic personality. We’re looking for someone who fits our core values - you don’t have to have swim or teaching experience. 
We work every day to make sure we provide WOW customer service and top-notch swim lessons. But none of that matters if we don’t have an amazing team - people who share our passion and commitment to making a difference with each swimmer that dives through our doors.

• Paid training including free E&A ILTP (lifeguard, CPR & AED) certification and full support from your managers to set you up to succeed

What qualities make a good swim instructor?

• Patient - every swimmer learns at their own pace. Being willing to help each student as an individual is key to their success and yours
• Considerate - our best swim instructors care about their students. It’s about getting to know the kids that you see every week and being excited to see them again. Think: “My Wednesday 5:00 class is just so much fun” 
• Genuine - you don’t have to be especially outspoken or especially serious, just be yourself. Different teachers can have equal success - Remember, every child learns in their own way! 
• Responsible & Consistent - You will be responsible for not only the success of your students, but also for their safety. A successful Goldfish employee must also care about the success of the school. You must be able to maintain a consistent schedule (2-3 shifts per week) - your students care about you being there every class and so do we!
  
  

What do Swim Instructors do?

• Teach children 4 month to 12 years old water safety & swimming techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Provide positive reinforcement to students
• Communicate to parents on swimmers’ progress
• All instructors are required to become lifeguard CPR/AED certified (E&A ILTP)

Safety Standards: The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance. Our pools are disinfected by a Nexgen chlorination system and additionally filtrated through a UV system to provide the safest swimming environment. Our state-of-the-art ventilation system allows fresh air to continuously circulate into our building, further minimizing the spread of any airborne virus. Industry experts note that indoor pools are far superior at minimizing virus transmission than most indoor spaces.

Each Goldfish Swim School is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location.
