Job Description
Salary: $33.00 - $38.00 DOE

The main responsibility of this role is to support heavy equipment assembly operations and oversee the Powder coating processes at Triverus’ production facility in Palmer, Alaska. This includes the preparation of, handling and installation of weldments and finished parts, resolution of assembly issues, and managing the coatings process from surface preparation to finished product.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Assembly of weldments and finished equipment. • Familiarity with the importance of proper surface preparation for parts of different metal types, sizes, and thickness. • Maintenance and adjustment of equipment as needed to continually meet quality and production requirements. • Ensures conformance to engineering drawings and specifications, including required Powder Coat film thickness, color, and cosmetic requirements. • Takes direction from the Production and Quality Control Managers in a cooperative manner. • Maintains production schedule and part delivery to assembly on time as determined by the Production Manager. • Able to manage surface prep technicians as needed to fulfill production schedule. • Familiar with the operation of settings and maintenance for electrostatic powder spray guns and related equipment and can adjust settings for optimal performance. • Applies uniform coatings at proper mil thicknesses with no sags or light spots. • Tests finish with approved test methods. • Determines if a product needs to be rejected and understands how to initiate corrective action. • Meets department standards for efficiency, productivity, and quality. Bring any issues or concerns regarding powder coating to the Production Manager’s attention. • Maintains an acceptable level of punctuality and regular attendance for all scheduled work hours. • Follow all safety policies and procedures. • Performs other duties as requested.

Additional Qualifications

  • Able to perform repetitive production and manufacturing tasks. • Comfortable learning new concepts and processes. • Able to work on your feet for 8-10 hours a day. • Comfortable in a fast-paced production and manufacturing environment. • Comfortable with challenging procedures. • Technical and detail-oriented aptitude. • Minimum 5 years experience with industrial coatings with preference given to applicants with at least 3 years of specific Powder coat related experience. • Associate degree preferred (technical curriculum preferred). Demonstrated experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree. Completion of a High School Diploma or GED is required. • One years’ experience in a large equipment assembly function preferred. • Ability to communicate in technical and mechanical technical disciplines. • Able to remain organized in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Must have good organization and time management skills.

Work Period

  • 40 hours/week, overtime upon approval or necessity, and weekends. • Some travel for service or maintenance of the production unit may be required. That travel will be identified on a case-by-case basis.

Personal and Attendance Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation, or arrangements to meet attendance requirements for the position. • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance. • Must have and maintain a clean driving record. An employee’s personal driving record may be reviewed prior to, and during employment with the company. • Must be able to pass a background review prior to being accepted for employment by the company.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop or bend; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employees should request assistance when performing actions that they feel uncomfortable with.

  • 90-day probationary period from start date. Probationary period evaluation to be completed at the end of the period. • Major holidays paid. • After probationary 90-day period, accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) will become available for vacation, sick, and jury duty. Position is eligible for company provided health insurance at 60 days.
