Pay Rate:  50,000.00 annually
Position Overview:
The Children’s Services Manager supervises the childcare/children’s services program to ensure adequate services to child victims/survivors of family violence and sexual assault in the shelter facility.
HOURS: 40 hours weekly minimum or as necessary to achieve program objectives, tasks, activities, and responsibilities and to effectively document outcome measures and variations.  Have the flexibility to work both business (8:00 am - 5:30 pm) and untraditional hours, including weekends, to meet the program’s needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision, support, and structure for the childcare program, including safety. Provide hands-on childcare assistance to provide adequate care.
  • Provide guidance to childcare providers regarding concerns that may be faced in the childcare program, such as interpersonal behaviors with children and engagements with parents and volunteers.
  • Ensure that all agency/program policies and procedures are followed during all childcare/children’s services activities.  Develop and make recommendations for childcare procedures as needed.
  • Ensure each new parent has completed orientation for childcare within 72 business hours of intake.  Completing an individual assessment for each parent and child, four years of age and older.
  • Assist with parenting avenues, including providing resources, guidance on healthy development for parents and children, and appropriate discipline techniques.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of project outcomes and the continuous implementation of enhancements to the childcare/children’s services program.
  • Assist with school enrollments and transportation to the appropriate school for enrollment and provide parents with Texas Law and education requirements. 
  • Maintain the weekly childcare schedule and monthly calendar of program activities/services; build and enhance external relationships that benefit the childcare/children’s services program.
  • Serve as the agency’s CPS liaison for residential clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of children’s services, activities, and enrollments.
  • Oversee coordination of events, workshops, and programs for children’s services.  Collaborate with other service providers to get the best results possible for each family.
  • Coordinate monthly field trips for the children in childcare, including reservation of an agency vehicle for transportation.
  • Maintain knowledge regarding agency objectives, activities, and client assistance resources.
  • Consult the supervisor regarding any critical situations within the department.
  • Serve in the appropriate step in the dispute resolution process for staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Call monthly to assist staff with concerns after hours and on weekends.
  • Assist with providing shelter and hotline coverage.
  • Provide crisis intervention assistance to residents and prospective residents.
  • Be knowledgeable of community resources; Attend assigned networking meetings monthly.
  • Serve as the Volunteer Supervisor by training and engaging volunteers and service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-year of prior Childcare experience
  • Minimum of 1-year prior experience in management
  • First Aid Certified/CPR certified or willing to obtain certification within the specified timeframe.
Education and Other Requirements:
  • Minimum of a 4-year degree or comparable experience.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
  • Must have a clean driving record/ have automobile insurance coverage and, be insurable/ have at least three years of verifiable driving experience.
  • Ability to endure tasks that require mobility and keep up with the demands of active children.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
Job-Specific Competencies:
  • Complete all required training for minimum childcare standards for shelter programs.
  • Have a working knowledge of child abuse laws, current Texas laws, and local Justice Systems.
  • Management of staff and volunteers, including scheduling, on-the-job training, professional growth, and employee documentation.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that encourage and empower residents to seek remedies for positive changes.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to assist staff with in-the-moment issues.
  • Sensitivity regarding the issues of family violence and sexual assault and the ability to remain calm in crises.
  • Understand residential programs and the dynamics of communal living.
