Duties & Responsibilities:

●        Load and make deliveries in accordance with company and legal guidelines, including proper use of safety equipment, and following established procedures.

●        Perform required pre and post trip inspections.

●        Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.

●        Utilize onboard electronics including ELD’s.

●        Navigate Southern California geography and freeway systems.

●        Route around traffic and hazards utilizing maps and/or GPS.

●        Maintain vehicle cleanliness and other related equipment as necessary.

●        Promote MJ Tank Lines company Core Values and Integrity.

●        Work additional varying hours which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Requirements & Qualifications:

●        Must possess and maintain a valid Class A driver’s license in state of residence with Tanker and Hazardous Materials (X) endorsements.

●        Must have a minimum of 24 months recent and verifiable commercial vehicle experience.

●        Must have experience driving trucks totaling gross vehicle weight (GVW) over 26,000 pounds.

●        Must have a clean D.M.V. report, 0 points in the past 12 months, max 1.5 points in the past 3 years.

●        Must not have had more than 1 at-fault or preventable accident in the past 3 years. 

●        Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, background screening and drug/alcohol test.  

●        Must have a current medical certificate, with no restrictions or limitations.

●        Must be able to pass our road test with vehicle chosen by MJ Tank Lines.

●        Must be able to acquire and maintain loading privileges at all Southern California terminals.

●        Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

●        Must adhere to California labor laws (meal and rest breaks).

●        TWIC (Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential) preferred but not required.

●        Experience in petroleum transportation highly preferred.

Schedule:

·         Set schedule with 4 days on, 3 days off (day and night shifts available).

·         Available additional days depending on company need.

Pay Schedule:

• During training, the driver will be paid at a rate of $29.00 per hour.
• After completion of training, the driver will be paid at a rate of $34.00 per hour.
• After completion of one year of service, the driver will be paid at a rate of $35.00 per hour.
• After completion of two years of service, the driver will be paid at a rate of $36.00 per hour.
• After completion of three years of service, the driver will be paid at a rate of $37.00 per hour.
• Drivers operating a pump truck (truck with a power pump unit) will be paid a premium per location.
• Additional $2.00 per hour weekend premium pay for all hours worked when normal work schedule includes both Saturday and Sunday.

 

At MJ Tank lines we pay on a bi-weekly pay schedule. A bi- weekly payroll has 26 pay dates per year, and employees are paid every other Friday. On each pay date the driver will be paid for two work weeks. A work week consists of the hours worked between 12:01am Monday to 11:59pm Sunday.
