IP HIMS Coder - Remote

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a remote Acute IP HIMS Coder, for a healthcare client. As the IP HIMS Coder, you will abstract clinical information from a variety of medical records, assign and sequences ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and procedure codes, reviews and interprets health record documentation to accurately identify pertinent primary and secondary diagnosis and procedures that require code and DRG assignment for properly billing inpatient records. Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of inpatient coding in acute hospital setting and completed training in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Requirements & Responsibilities for the IP HIMS Coder:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in inpatient coding in acute hospital setting
- Completion or training in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and procedure coding guidelines, DRG and POA assignment
- Health field related certifications or degrees (CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, CPC-H/COC, CIC and/or CPC-P)
- Must have their own laptop to work from.
- Able to work independently under minimal supervision and complete routine work
- Strong attention to detail, great communications skills, able to work in a fast paced environment.
Compensation for the HCC Coder:
- Duration of Assignment: 13 weeks with potential to renew
- Pay: $40 - $50/hr.
- Open to applicants form FL, AZ, NC, TX and IN
- 100% fully Remote
