Job Description

Capp Electric is seeking experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman to oversee and perform installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type of project. General Requirements:

  • Hold a current Texas TDLR Journeyman or Master’s Electrical License.
  • Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
  • Understand basic electrical theory and its application to installations.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Posses good organizational, communication and computer skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of on the job work experience supervising electricians.
  • Must have basic hand tools of the trade.
  • Advanced knowledge of National Electrical Code.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Must have the ability and knowledge to oversee Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians.
  • Ability to read and understand models, diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
  • Layout work and prep materials for installations.
  • Trouble shoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems and equipment.
  • Perform underground and overhead layout and rough in.
  • Determine wire and conduit sizing per NEC.
  • Oversee and perform switchgear installation and terminations.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
  • Coordinate and assign daily work tasks.
  • Ensure all OSHA safety rules are followed and all quality standards are met.
  • Schedule Material, Tools and Equipment needed for project.
  • Train and Monitor for quality installations.
  • Provide daily reports and updates to General Foreman.
  • Basic knowledge of Procore application.
  • Perform other project related duties and assignments as directed.

Physical Demands for Foreman:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • This job operates in a client project environment with exposure to employees, subcontractors and trades.
  • Ability to freely access all points of construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Ability to comprehend forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects. May be used in such tasks as blue print reading and in solving geometry problems. Frequently described as the ability to "visualize" objects of two and three dimensions, or to think visually of geometric forms.
  • Ability to manipulate materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move up or mount by using the hands or feet to include: 8' to 12' ladder, extension ladder and/or scaffolding, stairways- 3 or more flights.
  • To bend forward or down from the middle of the waist or the middle of the back, to bend, downwards, to lower oneself and/or to move freely on hands and knees between 20-50 times daily.
  • To perceive or comprehend by the sense of sight.
  • The ability to operate or convey in a vehicle, car, or commercial vehicle.
