NANI is looking for caring and hardworking Hemodialysis RNs to join our growing practice and provide outstanding clinical care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Hemodialysis RN is directly responsible for the observational, comparative, and interpretive action relating to the dialysis process. The Hemodialysis RN will demonstrate competence in hemodialysis procedures involving the acutely ill patient requiring hemodialysis while hospitalized.
The RN will have the ability to accurately obtain and carry out the hemodialysis prescription including blood specimens to be drawn; prescribed dialysate concentration and bicarbonate solution; prescribed treatment time; prescribed ultrafiltration; transfusion of blood and blood products; and prescribed fluid replacement requirement.
Blood Access responsibilities include arteriovenous fistula and graft; subclavian or internal jugular vein access and; assisting with catheter insertion.
The Hemodialysis RN will be responsible for patient monitoring including pre-dialysis patient assessment; vital sign assessment; changes in pallor, circulation, overall health conditions; respiratory status; and emotional status.
Upon completion of the hemodialysis treatment, the Hemodialysis RN will report post hemodialysis vital signs, fluid removal, medication received during treatment and patient response to the treatment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education: A level of knowledge normally acquired through a completion of an accredited nursing school, college, or university.
Certification and Licensure:
RN license; CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse) or CDN (Certified Dialysis Nurse) certifications preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and hospital and hemodialysis staff.
Working Conditions: The Hemodialysis RN will demonstrate competency and compliance to unit, hospital, HIPAA, and OSHA policies and procedures relating to infection control, fire and safety, maintenance of equipment.
Work Schedule: Full-time staff will be scheduled for 40 hours per week and a minimum of 7 on-call days per month.
