Key Autism Services is looking for a Lead Behavioral Technician and Assistant Behavioral Technician to start training Behavioral Technicians (BTs) at our Winston-Salem center!

The Lead Behavior Technician will provide clinical training based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to other BTs providing home-based or clinic-based services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder for Key Autism Services. The Lead BT will be responsible for using their clinical judgement and experience in the field, as well as the outlined Lead BT training curriculum from the training department, to provide new BTs with education, training, and guidance regarding professional and clinical skills.

The Assistant BT Trainer will assist the Lead BT Trainer in hands-on shadowing and training classes for new
BTs while working with his/her assigned clients. The Assistant BT Trainer will be responsible for using
their clinical judgement and experience in the field, as well as the outlined BT training curriculum from
the training department, to provide new BTs with education, training, and guidance regarding
professional and clinical skills.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Director of Training for ongoing training curriculum adjustments needed
  • Conduct in-person training sessions with BT candidates, including:
    • Role Play sessions
    • Overlap and modeling sessions
    • Final training session and competency evaluation
    • Booster trainings related to BT skill deficits
  • Provides evaluation on required competencies throughout each scheduled training session
  • Communicate with recruiting team to indicate when BTs are ready to be staffed on cases
  • Identify whether a BT meets criteria to move forward with the training process
  • Travel to homes of clients and/or nearby clinic setting (if applicable) to assist BTs in the field
  • Conduct direct therapy sessions with assigned clients
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to assess continued areas of need for the BT
  • Provide written and verbal feedback based on required training competencies
  • Refer to additional booster trainings when little to no progress in required competencies occurs
  • Partner with BCBA/RD as needed to communicate needs/progress of the BT
  • Ensure all necessary training materials and supports are available for BTs
  • Provide training reports to training director on bi-weekly basis
  • Take initiative to identify areas of training where changes are needed to increase competency or decrease rates of referral for additional booster trainings on similar material

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • RBT Credentialed
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field
  • Current employment with KAS in good standing
  • Recommendation from BCBA(s) on current case(s)

WORK SCHEDULE:

A set schedule will be developed with the Director of Training based on BT training class needs and personal caseload requirements.
