Radiology Technologist Full-Time Days

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
1. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance, safety.
2. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
3. Performs radiographic examinations.
4. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis.
5. Checks images including evaluating film for technical quality.
6. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; notifies supervisor of major malfunctions in a timely manner.
7. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
8. Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room.
9. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
10. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.
11. Attends meetings as required.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate of AMA accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
LICENSE: N/A
CREDENTIALS: Must be registered or registry eligible by the ARRT.
EXPERIENCE: New graduates of an approved school accepted.
SPECIAL:
PATIENT CONTACT: Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE: Will be exposed to X-ray Radiation on a daily basis.
Will be exposed to developer and fixer fumes while mixing developer & fixer on a daily basis.
MACHINE OPERATION: Portable X-ray units, Radiographic/Fluoroscopic Units.
PHYSICAL:
STANDING: Majority of shift spent standing.
WALKING: Considerable amount of time spent walking.
LIFTING: Must use good body mechanics to independently lift or in certain situations, assist with lifting/transferring patients of all weight ranges.
VISUAL: Must have ability to read physicians orders and observe patients; utilize inspection skills for evaluating exposed radiographs; must be able to read patient's ID bands.
HEARING: Must be able to receive/comprehend telephone calls; must be able to hear normal conversation to communicate with patients.
SPEAKING: Must have clear speech to communicate with nursing, physicians, other health care workers, all fellow employees, patients and their families and visitors.
