Accountant Journeyman

St. Michael's Inc., an employee-owned company, has an opening for an Accountant Journeyman with experience delivering accounting performance capabilities to enable mission delivery to a large Federal Agency. Candidates should have experience in supporting mission delivery with informed decision-making by employing analytical capabilities and providing accounting transparency to support mission execution. Additionally, the Accountant Journeyman will possess working knowledge in Financial Management, Budget, and Revenue. Location: Washington (NCR), DC

Active Clearance required: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance or possess an active Public Trust Clearance or higher.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Required:

• Six (6) years of experience in accounting.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical accounting data.
• Ability to read/interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
• Experience and expertise in analyzing and identifying improvements needed to ad hoc accounting management processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.

Desired:

• Public Trust Clearance or higher

Duties Include:

• Preparing accounting estimates and forecasts.
• Providing accounting justifications by compiling, comparing, and correlating information about current and future programs.
• Uses automated accounting system(s) and computer-generated products in accomplishing assignments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint with expert knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline. Six (6) years' work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. An Associate's Degree plus Four (4) years' work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
