Community Care Alliance is seeking a community mental health worker to work as a member of our 24/7 mobile crisis team. The community mental health worker will work with a team consisting of a clinician, RN, case manager and peer specialist and assist individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The community mental health worker will provide support to clients seen and attempt to engage them or reengage them in services after the initial crisis. This position will act as a bridge between affected individuals and available resources. The position may also involve transporting individuals (always accompanied by other staff) to appointments or treatment as well as assisting the program director with data collection, marketing and networking. Community mental health workers help to combat stigma by educating and conducting outreach on issues related to mental health and substance use within the community. The role blends both social and health services to encourage healthy behaviors and emphasize preventative care for the client's we serve.
Flexible schedule, days, may include evenings and some weekend coverage NO overnights.
The goal of the program is to provide a rapid response to individuals who are seeking behavioral health services and are in crisis, and to connect them to appropriate resources. The candidate we are looking for will have experience in the field of human services, and in particular an understanding and compassion for individuals in need of treatment for their behavioral health. An ideal candidate is someone who can honor a trauma-informed, client-centered care perspective and be accepting of diversity of perspectives and backgrounds.
Education/ Skills: Associates degree in the field of human services and relevant work experience with the behavioral health population. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
